It has been a pleasure working with you and your institution in the Lifelong Learning programme before. As we move to Erasmus+, we would like to invite you and your co-workers to join for a professional development course with us in Portugal. You can get a grant if your organisation applies for Staff Mobility funding, until the 17th March (Key Activity 1 of Erasmus+). In any case, you are always welcome as an individual participant.
The course “Change making educators” aims to to empower the participants to be active citizens towards the global sustainable development, by delivering them a set of competences to conceive and implement simple and easy educational actions in their environments.
The concrete aims are:
To make participants aware of their potential and role in the change of risk behaviours, affecting sustainable development.
To enable the participants to initiate their own projects for educational actions, addressing the needs of their contexts.
Deliver knowledge and practical experience to transform the participants to act as developers of sustainable contexts/ communities/ places/ organisations.
Promote the contact with intuitions and peers towards the discussion experiences, ideas, challenges and solutions.
Demonstrate the use of communication and technology to generate a social chain of good practices of, based on simple, daily-life educational actions.
There is a simple argument to justify the use of education and training towards sustainable world: the threats that are putting in risk the survival of life are, at least, in part, caused by human behaviour and Education has an influence in behaviour, as it make learners to become competent and responsible citizens.
The course is based on hands-on approach and at the end you shall achieve to bring a "take away" project that will change your educational context.
The workshop will happen in an informal climate, including outdoor (beach, garden, streets) and indoor sessions. The hosting city – Figueira da Foz – is a small sea-side municipally, easily connected by public transports from the airports of Lisbon and Porto.
The hotel will be the small and cosy Lazza Hotel (www.lazzahotel.com
